Today I am coming out of the fog of exhaustion caused by two sleepless nights (the night before we left and the night on the airplane). Today is the first day I have not had a nap (or two).
It is definitely the rainy season. It is sunny in the mornings and then it rains around 3:30pm. Although today, the rain started around 1:00pm. Sidne was NOT happy because we were about to go to the swimming pool, but mom and dad were too mean to allow them to swim in thunder and lightening. You can imagine how that went down.
Our Spanish classes started today and I am at the head of my class! The family that runs the language school is awesome. They took us to their coffee farm yesterday. In addition to coffee, they have orange, lime and banana trees. It is a beautiful hillside farm. I will attach photos if I can figure out how.
Even though Orosi is great and the language school is great and Jana has good friends in this town, we are all anxious to get to Miramar and settle into our own home so that you all can come visit us!
I'd better end here so Leif can use the computer. I think he wants to send emails to you all...or play video games. We'll see.
We miss you all very much, even though we've seen some of your faces on Skype. We hope to see more of your faces!
Are you sure it was a coffee farm? Did you see Juan Valdez and his little donkey? Did you taste the beans. I would love to attach some pictures but I don't know how. I hope that you got the pictures that Jennie sent of the chickens because they are sooo funny. Chris and I will try and skype with you this weekend. Have fun!! steph
ReplyDeleteMom says to find Juan Valdez - he is a millionaire and can fund our trip to come and see you. The suspension bridge is amazing. Should I send some toughskin jeans for the kids - to toughen them up? We miss you - Jennie really really misses you. Say Hi to the Moms!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sidne and Leif - we miss you. Chris
ReplyDeleteHave you all become so fluent in Spanish after a week of language school that you've forgotten how to blog & email your lowly, English-speaking (& I use that term loosely) family & friends?
ReplyDeleteBTW, Dad, Karen, Abert John, Ardy & I went to Yo Cream on grandma's birthday & they had 'Bubble Yum' flavored yogurt! I was the only one brave enough to try it, & it was jam-packed full of vitamin YUM!!!
Jennie forgot to mention the caramel sauce she poured all over the Bubble Yum Yo Cream. NASTY! :)
ReplyDeleteyou guy are not allowed to talk about yo cream.
